AMD is reportedly set to release its new Ryzen Threadripper "Storm Peak"-based processors in September 2023, bringing its Zen 4 technology to the high-end desktop (HEDT) and workstation markets. The Storm Peak architecture processors will be available in two forms: one designed for HEDT use and the other for workstations.
The HEDT version will offer overclocking support, 4-channel DDR5 memory, and 64 PCIe 5.0 lanes, while the workstation version will not support overclocking, but will offer 8-channel memory, 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes, and an additional 8 PCIe 3.0 lanes. It is not yet known how many CPU cores and threads the Storm Peak processors will support on these two platforms. The Storm Peak processors will offer faster cores, DDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0, and more for users who require high levels of computing power for their workloads.
