The Threadripper 7000 series is AMD’s latest line of high-end desktop processors, based on the “Zen 4” architecture. These processors offer up to 64 cores and 128 threads, along with up to 48 PCIe® 5.0 lanes and support for DDR5-5200 memory. The Threadripper 7000 series is designed for enthusiasts who demand the best performance and efficiency for gaming, content creation, and productivity. The flagship model, the Ryzen Threadripper 7980X, is the world’s fastest desktop processor, with a boost clock of up to 5.2 GHz.
The Threadripper 7000 series processors will be available in Q1 2024, with prices ranging from $999 USD for the 16-core Ryzen Threadripper 7916X to $3,999 USD for the 64-core Ryzen Threadripper 7980X. The processors will be compatible with the new TRX80 chipset, which offers more features and flexibility than the previous TRX40 chipset. The Threadripper 7000 series processors will also be accompanied by the Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series processors, which are aimed at the workstation market and offer up to 96 cores and 192 threads, along with AMD PRO technologies and enterprise-level security and management features. The Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series processors will be available later this year through OEM partners, including Dell Technologies, HP, and Lenovo.
