Thanks to the Nemu storage system, an individual's culture can now travel with him in the shape of corrugated cardboard boxes.
According to Sarah Ghaheri, a graduate student of industrial design at Pratt Intitute, the Nemu storage unit is about “the space defined by the immigrant experience, the loss of possession, and the suspension of culture through the migration process. ...It’s about what people take and what people leave behind.” Each unit features a corrugated cardboard box screen printed with pattern fragments from various cultures: a geometric design from Mauritanian tent, lace from a Chinese umbrella, ceiling tiles from a mosque and flags from Mexico.
With the Nemu storage system, you can now create your culturally conscious bookcase to preserve your culture whenever you go.
