I love this collection of Star Wars graffiti, and love it even more for the pun that it is from a gallery far, far away. Sorry.
All of these images are just really cool. Stormtroopers are obviously a natural subject for graffiti and street art. I much prefer the stencil work to the tube and train pieces, but what do I know?
Implications - This trend reflects how graffiti is mixing it up to include not simply art and design, but also franchises and recognizably branded characters. What is more, this shows how the reclamation of public space is not always framed as an overtly political act, but can incorporate commercial aspects in order to appeal to a large consumer segment.
