BNKR Arquitetcura's Social Topography Installation is Dramatic

BNKR Arquitetcura has worked with soda crates before, using them to shape the walls of its 2011 Upcycled Pavilion, but this time around, its 2013 'Social Topography' installation used over 5,000 crates to make stadium seating.
The annual Book Fair in the city of Juarez was host to this upcycled soda crate seating project. The stadium seating was made up of a variety of steps and platforms, which became the perfect space to sit and flip through the pages of a book, or listen to a speaker.
After the installation had served its purpose for the duration of the Book Fair, the crates were returned to Coca-Cola to be used for their intended purposes. This is a fantastic example of a low-cost installation can be incredibly dynamic, yet have a minimal impact on the environment.
