In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Space Needle's construction, the city of Seattle will randomly select one of thousands of applicants to head for the stars as part of Space Race 2012.
Although a number of outstanding prizes are being offered -- including a Quartz watch, an arcade machine and a telescope -- all the contestants of Space Race 2012 have their eyes on the grand prize. The randomly selected winner will receive a seat on the spaceship G-Force One and experience zero gravity firsthand. After reaching suborbital space (approximately 60 miles above the ground), the lucky winner will have the opportunity to float around weightlessly for a while.
Apologies to non-U.S. residents (that includes me); we'll have to stick around on boring ol' Earth.
