The name's Omar and I'm 21 years old. I play a level 14 Rogue in Dungeons and Dragons, I comment on contemporary politics and I study metaphysical philosophy. The movie “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” appropriately describes my life. Go watch it' the 1956 version.
What is unique that's not in your bio?
By no stretch of the imagination have I led a "normal" life. From video game design to Hapkido instruction, I've done it all! Fortunately, after two decades of nomadic globe-trotting, I've found my niche: journalism. And what better way are good ideas transmitted? I submit that none exist.
What's your favorite accomplishment?
Being published in Electronic Gaming Monthly, a magazine which I read from the age of six.
How do you define cool?
Jazz. More specifically, Thelonius Monk.
What is your secret to uncovering trends?
As the famous Buddhist philosopher Laozi puts it, “First you must become. Then you will know.” That's my round-about way of saying, participate in the trend and find out where it's going: Up or down.
What do you enjoy most about Trend Hunter?
The things I learn on a daily basis. One hour on Trend Hunter leaves me with more news and information than the average university lecture.
How do you reset to be creative?
A cigarette, a coffee and some quiet.
What inspires or excites you?
Humanity, computers and how both will combine in the near future.
Predict something awesome for 2020?
We'll all upload our minds onto computers. Think of The Matrix, minus the antagonistic machines.
