The SMAFO 4 is the latest electric bike from German e-bike specialist SMAFO. It is designed to be a versatile and adaptable urban commuter that can handle busy city streets. The SMAFO 4 comes in two frame options: a step-through model for shorter riders or those who prefer a more relaxed seating position, and a step-over model for those who want a sportier feel. The SMAFO 4 is entirely designed and produced in Germany, with most of the materials sourced from Central Europe.
The SMAFO 4 is powered by a Bafang rear hub motor with a torque sensor on the bottom bracket. It has a 522-watt-hour battery that can provide a range of up to 75 miles on a single charge. The SMAFO 4 features an LCD instrument panel, an integrated GPS tracking device, an Axa frame lock, and security features accessible via the SMAFO Connect app. It also has a built-in LED light with daylight sensor, Shimano brakes and drive components, and a luggage rack that can carry up to 20 kilograms of cargo. The SMAFO 4 weighs 26 kilograms and retails for 2,199 Euros ($2,345 USD) for the standard model, or 2,299 Euros ($2,452 USD) for the Limited Edition model, which has a special plaque and puncture-resistant Schwalbe Big Ben tires.
