The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) will release a skateboard-inspired stamp collection dubbed 'Art of the Skateboard.' Curated by art director Antonio Alcalá, the collection features work from four skaters turned artists. The pieces boast photographs of skateboards featuring vibrant designs, and will be unveiled at Cowtown's 21st annual Phoenix Am contest in Arizona.
The first artist, Crystal Worl from Alaska, demonstrated her Tlingit/Athabascan heritage with a blue-indigo salmon graphic design on her skateboard. The second artist William James Taylor Junior/Core222 from Norfolk, VA, did a red-and-orange abstract design. The third artist, Di'Orr Greenwood showed her Navajo roots with a bright palette illustrating eagle feathers and the rising and setting tones of the sun. Lastly, the fourth artist Federico "MasPaz" Frum, designed a black, white, and gold stylistic jaguar.
The stamp collection will be available for purchase on March 24.
