With a $100,000 grant, MB Architecture created a unique shipping container structure for Bard College. As the project's budget was tight, the design team opted to integrate shipping containers as a cost-friendly solution that also set the framework for the building.
After Bard College's new Bard Media Lab was prefabricated and delivered to its site, the new shipping container structure became fully operational in less than a day. As the needs of any physical space will inevitably change over time, the design has the ability to be modified in the future as needed.
Shipping container structures have become widely used across the architecture and design industry for a number of projects, including everything from small dwellings and shopping malls to entire sports stadiums.
