The first set of lighting released by Schneid Enlightenment, a company freshly founded by Niklas Jessen and Julia Mülling in October 2012, is visually striking. Simplistically sculptural, Schneid Enlightenment's debut collection is made up of three pendent lamp designs (secundum, pirum and zappy), each of which focus on clean lines, fluid forms and emitting a warm, cosy glow.
Although they will be focusing on more than just lighting, Schneid Enlightenment made the right move when deciding to design and present these lamps first. Made out of thin cuts of poplar wood, the organic shapes achieved will make people think of pine cones and produce.
Although Schneid Enlightenment's lighting may seem simple, which is very Scandinavian, the attention to detail belies this assumption. Not to mention that the shapes and color are unique.
