Shake On Some Love

Finnish Designer, Susanna Vesalainen, created this ceramic salt and pepper shaker for a competition this year sponsored by DesignBoom.
The salt and pepper shaker is comprised of two ceramic halves held together by a magnet that sits in the middle of each half and attracts both sides to each other creating a perfect fit.
From what my research has shown, she was shortlisted, but did not win, in her competition category. I don't know what object won, but it must have been pretty impressive because this work is so endearing to me.
The ceramic heart is beautiful in itself, but there is something really touching about breaking a heart every time you want to use the salt and pepper. It reminds me of my first love and how she broke my heart. Maybe I'm just a bit more vulnerable in the mornings when I write these posts, though.
