Since the first polystyrene helmet was created nearly 60 years ago, there have been several certifications that have been put in place to update safe helmet design. However, there are plenty of people who still lust after the look of some of the first helmets to come from Bell Auto Parts. Taking inspiration from 70s-style helmets, Chad Hodge decided to take matters into his own hands and create a design that would comply with today's safety standard, yet satisfy that need for nostalgia.
Since there's nothing quite like it on the market, Hodge notes that "I tried to consider that there'd be a pretty broad spectrum of people that would be attracted to it—everything from the scooter crowd to guys riding Harleys." As a result, the finished design is sleek and stylish, and most of all, safe.
