As ever, the U.S. Army continues to expand their battle-ready technology; the Army's latest endeavor involves the Robotic Tentacle Manipulator. Although according to Gizmodo snake robots are not particularly new, combining them into one super octopus robot is.
The Robotic Tentacle Manipulator is incredibly limber, able to adapt to almost any situation; it can "crawl, swim, climb or shimmy through narrow spaces," as reported by the Army website. With 3D mapping and touch sensitivity, it can even open doors!
