Compressorhead is a Robot Band That Rocks Out to Motorhead
Tia Clarke — January 8, 2013 — Art & Design
Check out this awe-inspiring robot superband 'Compressorhead,' rocking out with their -- um -- circuit boards out to Motorhead's classic 'Ace of Spades.' The German trio, formed with 78 hydraulic fingers, describes itself as the 'world’s heaviest metal band.'
The shining personality in the hard rocking outfit seems to be four-armed drummer Stickboy -- boy, can he kick out the jams. Although Compressorhead, by their very nature, are cutting edge, their music taste is decidedly old school. The band loves to jam to Black Sabbath, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin classics.
Stickboy has previously performed at the 2008 Big Day Out festival in Australia and will return with the Compressorhead lineup for this year’s festival. Compressorhead, who were created by German company Kernschrottrobots, have yet to be knocked off their throne as the world's heaviest metal band.
