Riot Games, the publisher behind popular game titles like VALORANT and League of Legends, has announced a new women’s League of Legends tournament called Rising Stars. Rising Stars will be held as an online event in partnership with GGTech Entertainment and UK collegiate esports platform NUEL and will take place between November 26-27. The prize pool for the competition will be £3,000 in total. The event is available to participants from the rest of Europe; however, it is mainly aimed at people from the Northern European region (UK, Republic of Ireland, and the Nordics).
Through the Game Changers project, Riot Games has actively supported the women's esports industry since 2021, mainly in VALORANT. Students studying esports production will be in charge of the broadcast to gain experience, with help from GGTech and NUEL employees.
