Rocket Lab has indicated that it will be able to reuse its rockets. The company will implement helicopters to retrieve the rockets while in air. Rocket Lab will also be able to retrieve its rockets from ocean landings. The new reuse strategy will begin to be implemented after the next three launches. However, the company may not attempt to recover a rocket on the initial launch of the program.
This will allow Rocket Lab to greatly reduce its launch costs. This is due to the company not having to build an entirely new rocket for each launch. This could greatly reduce the time between launches for the company, allowing for more launches. Peter Beck, the Rocket Lab chief, indicated that one resue of a rocket would be able to double the production rate.
