Australian graphic artist Robert Penney transforms his time traveling vision of turning modern big screen movies and epic primetime TV titles into vintage CVS game covers. His Avatar CVS-style game cover is particularly odd compared to the sheer awesomeness of James Cameron's motion picture, but entertaining nonetheless.
Even though these retro video game covers seem a little out of place today, I'd wager these titles would have sold out fast in 1982.
Implications - We're living in a world that seems to be a constant 1970s renaissance and Robert Penney's artwork is a perfect example of why. Not only does it tug on our nostalgia heart strings, it modernizes many of the feelings we used to associate with our childhood. Every adult likes to be reminded that they were once young, and this is a fantastic way to do so.
