'Bureo Skateboards' is now producing a line of sunglasses made from recycled fishing nets. The amount of plastic waste in our oceans has become a growing concern in recent years. The 'Ocean Collection' helps to combat this issue by providing a new use for one of the most harmful forms of ocean waste.
The Ocean Collection consists of three distinct frames, each of which offers a modern take on a classic design. The frames of the glasses are entirely made from recycled fishing nets sourced from Bureo's Net Positiva Program. The use of recycled material helps to prevent these discarded nets from entering the water and causing harm to our fragile ocean ecosystem. Beyond using recycled materials, the stylish eyewear is also produced with a 70 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
Bureo Skateboards is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to bring the eco-friendly sunglasses to consumers.
