PACK'D is Introducing New Recyclable Paper Bags
Michael Hemsworth — November 30, 2022 — Eco
PACK'D has announced it will be using recyclable paper bags for its packaging across some of its product range in a bid to reduce the amount of plastic therein.
The packaging is a flexible paper film packaging that is ready for recycling via curbside pickup to make it as easy as possible for consumers to dispose of after use. The bags are characterized by their scrunchable form that's a more adaptable option when compared to bulky cardboard alternatives. The packaging is available now via the brand's website as well as for purchase at Ocado in the UK.
CEO and Co-Founder Alex Stewart spoke on the new PACK'D packaging saying, "We’re proud that this will be one of the first frozen packs in curbside recyclable paper anywhere in the world. For us curbside recyclability is everything, otherwise we’re just passing the buck to our customers and giving them an extra task…We’re on course to be completely plastic free in 2023 and so far we’ve managed to remove 13.6 tonnes of plastic per year from our supply chain.”
