Rachel Ignotofsky is a Kansas City-based designer who has launched a new series of illustrations called 'Women in Science.' Ignotofsky's goal is to create 50 drawings of some of the most powerful women who have ever stepped into space or peered into a microscope. Each drawing has a whimsical look and comes sprinkled with a few fun facts, just in case you can't name Valentina Tereshkova's accomplishments off the top of your head.
'Women in Science' will hopefully help draw attention to some of the world's forgotten female scientists. Many of these women were pioneers in tech and medicine, yet their accomplishments are relatively unknown to the general public. In addition to the drawings, Rachel Ignotofsky has also created a run of t-shirts that are for sale in her Etsy store.
