QWER.RE is a non-profit start-up that seeks to benefit the visually impaired. The website serves as a Wikipedia interface that can be more easily seen and navigated by those who suffer from visual disabilities, as well as the elderly. The title was chosen intentionally for the fact that it is simple to type on a keyboard.
The magnified, easy-to-use template was inspired by the inventor's first-hand experience, as they witnessed a friend slowly lose their vision. A year later, the QWER.RE was introduced.
The Internet is an amazing innovation that deserves to be accessible to everyone. This web tool extends the knowledge and connectivity that the Internet provides to those who have previously never had the opportunity to explore it at length. This functional service will aid many people in becoming apart of our global, online community.
