The Quest to Learn School in NYC is Education of the Future
Rose Nazarali — January 10, 2010 — Social Good
Quest to Learn is an experimental school that recently opened in New York City that is targeted towards today's digital-aged youth. The class of 72 students is split into four groups and each one rotates through their classes together.
Classes at the Quest to Learn school are titled much differently than a regular elementary school. Math and English is titled 'Codeworlds' and Social Studies is now 'Being, Place and Space.'
Implications - In a day and age where American public schools have been getting a bad rap for math and science scores that seem to fall every year, this may be the type of innovation that helps bring the US back to the top of international test scores. Here's to hoping it works!
