A team from the ETH Zurich Design and Technology Lab created the 'peakBoil' as an innovative 3D-printed camping stove that helps to solve the problem of traditional camping stoves functioning poorly in windy conditions.
The printed stove design boasts a form that looks somewhat comparable to a Bundt cake pan, with ridges that actually help to protect it from wind and maintain heat.
peakBoil received recognition as the winner of the 3D Pioneers Challenge competition, as the innovative design helps to conserve precious resources. Moving forward, the team that developed the inventive 3D-printed camping stove design is now looking to modify the burner with additional improvements, such as optimizing the flow of gas and air to further improve heat transfer.
