Adobe's Primrose Dress stole the show when it was unveiled on the runways for the first time made in collaboration with designer Christian Cowan. It was part of Project Primrose and made its debut last year at Adobe MAX with a design that shape-shifts in real-time.
It changes before viewers' eyes and this is made possible with the laser-cut polymer dispersed liquid crystal 'petals' that go through patterns within a matter of milliseconds. Cowan explains, “The true technological craftsmanship that has gone into this piece is mind-boggling. And the simplicity you are left with is so seamless, you’d never know the layers upon layers of boning, satin, cable work, motherboards, transmitters, and polymers scales that are all at play. The best part about the job I have is to be able to dream, and then make those dreams a reality, this was exactly that.”
