Creative Danish Designer Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt, will be showing her recent lamp design titled, 'Bau' at the Salone de Mobile in Milan, Italy this year. The designer is well-known for her geometrically shaped and brightly colored furniture. Schmidt is fond of using wood as her medium and this sculptural chandelier illustrates that.
The brilliance in the design is the challenge of taking an object like a chandelier which is often seen as formal lighting and makes it fun. Schmidt does this by using wood instead of crystal and primary colors instead of metallic -- all while incorporating the popular DIY concept. Purchasers of the lamp need not worry if they aren’t the crafty type. The Bau light comes with all color instructions and interlocking pieces.
The kits by Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt will be available in two sizes and DIYers are advised to create a unique setting by lighting a room with more than one as well as mixing the sizes.
