In his debut collection for New York Fashion Week, Prabal Gurung certainly left his mark as one to watch in the future.
Inspired by a bottle of his mother’s Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche perfume from the 1970s, Prabal Gurung’s 26-look collection was a clear nod to his love of packaging as well as his strive for perfection and creating chic, well-tailored garments.
Using one of spring 2010’s hottest colors, cobalt/electric blue, Prabal Gurung’s attention to detail was evident and his execution was flawless; with such a stunning first foray into the fashion world, it will be interesting to see if Prabal Gurung is able to deliver in the seasons ahead.
