Macallan Whisky is featuring photographer Rankin as the first in their ‘Masters of Photography’ series. The artist has amassed an awe-inspiring collection of 1000 Polaroids in six days at the distiller’s estate for the compilation. Until a few years ago, when he took the digital route, this was his preferred form of picture taking. Naomi Campbell, Britney Spears, Kate Moss and even the Queen of England have all sat for him.
To coincide with the ‘Masters of Photography’ launch, Macallan has released a limited ‘Rankin’ edition of the 30 year old spirit. The bottle comes in a black leather box and contains an original Polaroid photo taken by the artist. Each collector bottle costs $1,300.
In the ‘end of an era’ statement earlier this year, Polaroid announced the film will be discontinued.
