Ross Lovegrove designs the PolarisGo chair which is a piece of furniture backed by data collected from the Polaris Dawn space mission and integrates magnesium into the structure. It is made with aerospace-grade aluminum alloy. To create the chair, Lovegrove worked with CreativeWorkStudios.
The designer notes, “I have taken this data and translated it into a frequency that is passed through the frame of the GO Chair creating four distinct polarized focus points in each corner of the seat." The chair's main surface is a focus as it is detailed with ripples that are meant to reflect the shockwaves from the space mission. The ripples come and meet in the middle to celebrate the four astronauts of the Polaris Dawn mission.
