PLANTATION by Alicja Patanowsk, a Polish student at the Royal Collage of Art, Department of Ceramics and Glass in London, is a series of mini greenhouses made out of upcycled glassware. A creative and eco-friendly project, to say the very least, it shows people that they don't have to spend a pretty penny to create their own indoor gardens. With a little incentive and imagination, anything can be repurposed into planters.
Using glasses found at bus stops, in dumpsters and by benches, PLANTATION by Alicja Patanowsk "finds a remarkable, almost symbolic use of what has been abandoned," as written on her website. Each glass was fitted with a handmade porcelain component to ensure ideal seed germination takes place in the vessels.
