In 2018, Andrés Reisinger shared a 3D rendering for the Hortensia chair on Instagram, and the virtual pink armchair has since been featured in design magazines, initiating orders for a real version of the dreamy furniture piece. As Reisinger describes, "I have been working with 3D softwares for more than 10 years now. When I reached that goal in my digital work, I knew that my next challenge was to stop imagining and really start building the world as I see it."
Now, a tangible version of the Hortensia chair has been brought to life with 20,000 fabric petals and is on display at Barcelona's Montoya gallery. The finished version of the chair is a hyper-realistic version of the rendered design, which is as plush and cloud-like as ever.
