Canadian design firms Bureau Tempo and Thom Fougere join forces to create the interiors of the Pine Island Cottage. The two paid close attention to the surroundings which they described to be 'rugged and serene' in Georgian Bay. This stood as the inspiration for the interiors of the family holiday residence.
Fougere spoke about the design, "Translating that tactile experience into the interior in unexpected ways became a guiding goal in selecting materials. It often came down to finding the minimum touch with the maximum impact to achieve this. Early conversations with the client about embracing patina and encouraging the use of materials that would age well, established a direction that led to rich material selections and a few unexpected pairings."
