Perch Interactive was founded back in 2012, and has since been evolving retail purchasing to mesh the digital and physical worlds with its 3D sensing technology. With this, Perch Interactive is able to detect when consumers pick up and put down products, and trigger "delightful and informative experiences at that critical moment when they consider purchase."
To get a better understanding of how this done, Trend Hunter spoke with Perch Interactive CEO Trevor Sumner. As he explains, the technology works by offering information to consumers when they pick up a product they're interested in. For example, when they pick up a shoe from a display, they can find out more about the pricing, what sizes and colors the store has in inventory, and what it looks like with different outfits.
