Multidisciplinary design practice Make That Studio created this pebble-shaped water container that draws both on ancient tradition and natural geology.
Based out of Italian city of Cittadella, the studio wanted to pay tribute to an ancient Sicilian jug that was traditionally used to store oil or water by giving it a contemporary and minimal redesign. The designers also looked towards the Simeto River that runs through Sicily and decided to recreate the water-smoothed natural pebbles that were found in the river bed.
The end result is the limited edition and pebble-shaped 'Pètra' jug that comes available in either a glossy white or matte stone finish. Drawing from both cultural and natural influences, this contemporary container offers an elegant method of storing and serving water in your home.
