Nicole Nomsa Moyo is a designer based in Toronto and she has just unveiled a range of interactive sculptures as a part of this year's Miami Art Week dubbed the Pearl Jam installation. The art is comprised of sculptures that resemble large necklaces, bracelets, and earrings that are inspired by the jewelry that is worn by southern Africa's Ndebele tribe. The art is spread throughout the main Palm Court in the Miami Design District.
Moyo shared the design notion with Dezeen, noting "The jewelry piece was really about thinking about my culture as a prized possession and about being a woman – something that you wear proudly. Traditionally, we express ourselves through our clothing and our necklaces. We haven't been able to do it at such a large scale, where anyone from any culture can interact with it, which is great."
