PeakDo launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for a 7-inch mm-wave streaming handheld device. mm-wave technology offers a fast, low-latency solution to image streaming, as the technology is capable of transferring at a 60GHz frequency. This means the image is sent at a speed of roughly 3.96 gigabits per second, which is more than enough to transfer 4K video without noticeable latency. It is important to note, though, that this requires a dongle plugged into a computer, as the handheld is only receiving an image with its built-in mm-wave receiver.
The handheld itself resembles a Nintendo Switch with two slide-on bumper controllers and a large tablet-like screen in the center. The controllers register as Xbox controllers to gaming devices, meaning they will work with any major console. The panel on the PeakDo handheld is a 7-inch 1080p display, and the device is equipped with an 8,000 mAh battery, which lasts upwards of seven hours.
