LifeStraw Unveils the New Peak Solo for Clean Drinking Water
References: lifestraw & designtaxi
Swiss company LifeStraw was first launched back in 2005 and its most recent product is the Peak Solo, which is a progressive straw that is made for traveling. The brand has been offering practical solutions for clean drinking water during tough environments.
The Peak Solo is designed to fit into a traveler's pocket and has a two-stage filtration system that can eliminate "bacteria, protozoa, microplastics, chemicals, odors, and unpleasant tastes from water sources." These are then captured inside a hollow fiber membrane as the first barrier which filters protozoan parasites and waterborne bacteria out. The next barrier has an activated carbon filter that rids contaminants. This allows users to drink from streams, ponds, rivers, and other water sources.
