Studio MK27 Designs the Patina Maldives Resort on an Island
Amy Duong — October 31, 2022 — Art & Design
Brazil-based design studio Studio MK27 creates a new holiday resort on the Fari Islands archipelago located in the Maldives. This is one of the four islands that compromise the artificial archipelago and is built on over 10 kilometers of reef along the northern side of North Male Atoll.
The studio helps with designing both the architecture and interior design of the buildings along the entire island including a spa, a special kid's club, an arrival pavilion for guests, and a range of restaurants and bars to enjoy. The accommodation is provided by a blend of different water villas, private island villas, and beach suites. Studio MK27 Founder Marcio Kogan states, "Patina is unique in the Maldives: an opportunity to be together in isolation, [...] It is one of the most remote places on Earth and still a place designed for people to meet one another."
