Cubicles were forsaken for more open spaces and now those may morph into park-inspired workplaces if Juhyunkim Architecture PC, a firm based in New York City, has anything to say about it. With a focus on well-being and creativity, it is only natural that design firms would look to bring the outdoors indoors to constantly refresh the mind in as natural a way as possible.
Conceived for Space Forward, an ideas competition sponsored by 1407 Broadway, a Manhattan workspace, the park-inspired workplace features a grassy floor and outdoor cafe tables instead of cubicles. The designers write, "Traditionally, the park, which is an inviting and comfortable place, seemed to be located at the opposite side of the spectrum from the office, which feels restricted and confined." Not anymore.
