Although the Pallet Armchair isn't the first piece of furniture that has been crafted out of salvaged shipping materials, it is one of the first that doesn't look like it. If it wasn't for the name, the Pallet Armchair would simply appear to be a rugged and rustic seat perfect for contemporary cottages or cozy homes.
Designed by Pierre Vedel, the Pallet Armchair was inspired by two existing furniture pieces: the Poang by IKEA and Eskilstuna by Peter Andersson. These two chairs feature simple lines and a relatively boxy silhouette, just like the Pallet Armchair. Aside from being made out of one shipping pallet, this eco-conscious chair also features clothesline for the bottom and two red cushions from IKEA. Overall, it looks like one sturdy seat.
