Just how much money Ryanair could hope to add to its corporate coffers is dubious, but they certainly are angering their customers with the idea of pay toilets on their flights. The company's CEO, Michael O'Leary, threw out the idea that passengers may have to pay a pound (just under $1.50 USD) to pee.
Does this mean that passengers will be breaking out the Depends rather than paying to use the toilet on flights?
Implications - The CEO of Ryanair, a famously cheap company, is considering installing pay toilets. Is there a faster way to alienate loyal customers, especially those currently battling the harsh economic realities of a recession? I don't think so.
Expect this to just be idle chatter, Ryanair would never recover from the PR disaster this would be.
