Though McDonald's usually reserves its green treats for St. Patrick's Day, the chain appears to be breaking with tradition with reports of a Oreo Mint McFlurry in California.
The minty new flavor was first spotted by the YouTube food reviewer Peep This Out, who spotted the dessert at a McDonald's in Southern California. According to the review, the new McFlurry combines vanilla soft serve with crunchy Oreo cookie pieces, and minty Shamrock Shake syrup. Despite the use of the Shamrock Shake syrup, the mint and chocolate flavor combination seems like the perfect holiday mashup.
Unfortunately for chocolate and mint lovers, the item appears to be in the testing phase for now. As a rep from McDonald's confirmed: "The Oreo Mint McFlurry is currently being tested in select restaurants. Staying in touch with consumer preferences is incredibly important so we regularly conduct tests to look at ways we can evolve our menu for customers."
