The Offcut Pouf demonstrates to many skeptics that resourcefulness need not rely on turning somebody's literal trash into your own treasure. The lovely little object is certainly made from unwanted material, but all of it is brand new and considered flawless for this secondary purpose. It makes for a comfy ottoman, a footstool or a seat.
Anna Karnov collects fabrics from clothing manufacturers and fashion retailers, either because a cloth is excess and deemed unusable or because a garment is flagged as a second or it has gone out of season. What the designer does is turn these off-cuts into cotton wire and crochet them by hand into soft upholstery. The bottom of the Offcut Pouf is made from smooth leather and has its unique material origins imprinted into the hide.
