Apart of NYC Design Week 2015, this Alexander Girard pop-up lounge is a relaxing space open to the public. The colorful space brings to life the designs and works of Girard, a widely celebrated designer that dabbled in interior, furniture, industrial and textile design.
The stunning public space is part-lounge, part-museum showcase, with bright designs from Girard's time designing at Herman Miller. The space inspires visions of Mad Men and is characterized by its bright contrasting colors and delicate integration of the merchandise, which is highlighted on fixturing throughout the lounge.
By creating a laid back atmosphere where patrons of NYC Design Week can relax and take in the merchandise in a leisurely way, the space was able to introduce Girard's designs to a new generation in an experiential fashion.
