North West Bicester is an eco-town, sanctioned and designated by the UK government, that is being described as the UK's most sustainable development. The first residents of the area are expected to move in later this year. It is hoped that North West Bicester, one of four such planned towns, will be good for the environment as well as business.
Schools will be located within 800 meters of all homes, and jobs will be created within a sustainable travel distance. Walking, cycling and other sustainable modes of transportation will be encouraged. Bus service will be available within 400 meters of every home, while electric vehicle charging points and electric car clubs will be made available.
