The Fun Noodle Bar in the Chinese city of Shenzhen looks fairly typical from the outside, with a panoramic glass front and a neon sign. The interior of the restaurant, however, looks like the inside of a giant antique shipping crate.
In order to take advantage of the beautiful view afforded by the noodle bar's high elevation, architect Fanbo Zeng decided to create a frame motif within the restaurant. Thus, every table is surrounded by a slatted wood frame which not only creates an intimate wooded canopy for each table but also divides the view into framed sections. This design provides a different perspective for each individual diner -- the structure and material of the wooden boxes is inspired by pool cabanas.
The noodle bar also has an outdoor terrace where the full effect of the Shenzhen landscape can be taken in.
