Ford has designed a brand new 'Active Noise Control' system that utilizes noise-cancelling sound wave technology.
Inspired by noise-cancelling headphone technology, this system provides a more peaceful and comfortable driving experience by using sound waves to block out excess noise. Three microphones located inside a vehicle monitor background noise and signal the system to emit sound waves to block out unwanted sound, without affecting conversation or music from inside the vehicle cabin.
The brand new system from Ford will be making its debut in the new Mondeo Vignale car model. Besides using sound waves, other technologies like a foam-insulated engine bay, acoustic glass windows and a sound-absorbing material interior help to block out unwanted noises for a calming drive.
