Cheap chic and eco travel collide in ALT Hotels, the new hotel brand from Montreal's Germain hotel group. The rooms are being prefabricated offsite, an innovation first. The hotel has geothermal heating and cooling, heat recovery from exhaust air, heat recovery from laundry water, energy efficient lighting, geothermal heated tiles on the ground floor and digital controls of ventilation, cooling and heating. With, of course, modern and design forward interiors and an impressive price - $129 CDN. The first location is set to open in Montreal in 2007.
