Studio Gang Completes the Populus Hotel Design in Denver

Architecture firm Studio Gang has just finished the design of the Populus Hotel located in Denver. The developer has notably claimed that this is the first 'carbon-positive' hotel in the US with a 13-storey design defined by its distinct facade. It is crafted with an elliptical window of different sizes to reflect the 'Aspen' eyes of the native Aspen tree to the state, which is also known as Populus Tremuloides.
The founding partner of Studio Gang, Jeanne Gang speaks about the design concept behind the project, stating "Denver strikes a unique balance between being a vibrant city and a gateway to some of the country's most awe-inspiring natural landscapes. Our goal was to draw from this distinct urban character and rich ecology to create a building that would help define the skyline of this thriving city."
