Nippon Paper Group, a Japanese paper manufacturing company, recently created a new type of paper container called SPOPS that is able to store liquids without disintegrating. The paper container mimics the shape of a traditional milk carton and can be used to hold many products including shampoo, soap, and household detergents.
SPOPS was created to replace conventional refill-styled pouch containers that are often used in handsoaps. In addition, the paper containers offer an ultra-compact, storage-friendly design. Nippon Paper Group is aiming to have the containers commercially available by 2022 and has also launched a line of biodegradable, paper straws.
As consumers seek more eco-friendly products, ensuring that the packaging of these products is also eco-friendly will allow businesses to gain more of the eco-conscious consumer market.
